The presence of CALIFORNICATION (trap 3) is likely to ensure a cautious approach from the layers as she does look to have a standout chance today. The trial work of Millridge Mal (trap 1) has been commendable and he could easily find a bit more time. There can be quite a gulf between trials and races, but Calamity Cali (trap 5) has qualified okay.

SLIPALONG LEMON (trap 4) takes the eye here. Although needing to tread carefully through the opening metres, she should have too much speed for these. Kevin The Carrot (trap 2) has been limbering up well in qualifying trials and could prove a hazard to the selection. Track inexperience is a negative for Ferry Rose (trap 1), but her trials were above-average.

It's been a sound batch of trials from LAID BACK PETE (trap 2) and there's got to be a chance that he can make a successful breakthrough first time up. The ability is clearly there for Millridge Archie (trap 6) if he is able to transfer it from the practice arena. Trial watchers have been impressed by Headleys Bucks (trap 5) in qualifying and he isn't out of it.

EVER SO MAID (trap 1) should be shouldering much of the workload here and is fancied to be taking the chequered flag in pole position. Jasons Hope (trap 5) appears to have been set a very manageable task on his debut and can worry the selection. Pulleen Blackie (trap 6) is keen to establish an identity if qualifying trials are an indication.

ASCOT ROLO (trap 2) would seem to have a little bit in hand in this and can prove his superiority if enjoying the rub of the green early on. The rails location is of benefit to Stayaway Joey (trap 1) and she could make it work. The true picture of the complete ability of Klassical Devon (trap 4) remains unclear.

The formbook points to AUNTY NORA (trap 1) giving a solid account against these rivals and many will join in with her bid for victory. Wild Bullitt (trap 6) scored despite not having the smoothest of runs latest, meaning he is a threat. Health Is Wealth (trap 2) is not without a chance of making the frame.

LUCKY TREASURE (trap 2) should simply be too good for these. Expected to be the subject of plenty of support, he can justify that confidence with a faultless display. Cape Jungle (trap 1) is still becoming familiarised with the track so could give the selection most to do. Hawthorn Choice (trap 5) has a bit to offer and should be prominent when it comes to the crunch.

The market may serve up the best clues but it is DROMULTON MILLY (trap 6), a relative novice round here, that gets the vote. Cahirard Lascal (trap 5) is certainly getting to grips with things here and must be feared. Rattlesnake Ben (trap 3) is certainly a contender, but probably needs others to make a few errors.

GANGSTER GARY (trap 1) will be all the better for more experience round here but can find the little bit extra that's required to account for these. Steeple Rd Brave (trap 2) won't be far away if things go right from the get-go, but she may be exposed if they don't. Feora Joy (trap 6) is fairly unexposed here, so must be kept on side.
